Foo-me, a Lebanese mobile startup, is going to be at 4SITE Forum!

Foo-me says it's a "Lebanese mobile application that gives you access to free sms, interesting events, movies in theaters,  breaking news, weather in different Lebanese cities, horoscope and many more."

I was just thinking about how, when you watch local Lebanese weather news, they insist on giving you the low down on temperatures in every single city or village in the country... For those who don't know, Lebanon is pretty small country (think of it as a rectangle 220 by 60 kms long!). So do we really, really, really need to know that there is a 1degree in estimated average temperature difference between Beirut and Jounieh?

Still, the Lebanese audience loves that information, and Foo-me wants to be the one to get it to their mobiles. So I'm very excited to have Ghady come and talk at 4SITE (which is now open for early registration). Ghady Rayess and Elie Nasr  were with me at AUB during our undergraduate studies. They're both smart people who are fun to have around. The joke is that, since they spend so much time together because of work, it's now odd to see one without the other when we're hanging out in a social night spot like Gemmayzeh, for example. (And you can imagine all the 'couple' jokes that come out of that).

So we look forward to seeing them at the event!
